Folks I had to take down the digital downloads cause the files were upwards 100 megs and thats not fair to you. I disabled that feature from the store until I can figure how to separate the print version of a book from the non-print.

It may require me to make new projects and pdf files in lulu. For now do order the hard copies and plant a tree.

It’s been more than a year since the debut of Stubble Cafe on November 18th, 2009 and now it’s time for curtains to come down on this first act.

The strip began as an experiment using characters I would doodle during meetings at my old job. People really seem to enjoy them but they had no real stories to tell. The idea to make a strip finally happened when I realized just what their voices would be.

The stream of consciousness rambles only had one rule. One should never be able to tell which character was talking. The idea was the reader should add that themselves. In spite of most people interpreting character speakers from left to right I think I was able to pull that off to the desired effect.

Now I’m letting these guys take a break so that I can move on to other endeavors which I will post in a less regular fashion. There will still be Saturday updates.

Stubble Cafe may open doors again one never knows these things. In the mean time, don’t worry the cast will still be waiting in the sidelines. Pondering, wondering and not getting to the point. Specifically:

• Chicken Lashes will get promoted at work and become regional manager.
• Mouse Lashes will fight off an armed robber and made the news. The event will not change her way of life but provided her with self confidence and a great bar story.
• Stubble Panda will get treated for his sex addiction and the news will be well accepted by his friends.
• Hedgehog Lashes will get a perm but it won’t take.
• Stubble Pumpkin will rot (since it’s a pumpkin) but the seeds will invade a neglected garden and not be found until it’s just better to let the harvest happen.
• Stubble Oso will travel back to Spain. Find his old elementary school was restored and is now a museum/gallery.
• Stubble Pug will consult a doctor regarding his sleep apnea.
• Stubble Fish will find a new favorite drink, horchata.
• Stubble Cat will learn to scuba but will not want to continue doing it.
• Skunk Lashes will take computer classes and find out she is neither a Mac or a PC.
• Stubble Frog will have his eyes checked and go for contact lenses.
• Stubble Sheep will shave a mohawk on a dare.
• Stubble Mouse will trade in his old car and get a motorcycle.
• Stubble Snake will make 5th in his class at the New York City Marathon.
• Stubble Owl will begin staying up late to spend more time with his aging parents.
• Bat Lashes will bake 100 muffins for charity.
• Stubble Spider will fall in love with a widow and will be able to make the relationship work. They will live in a rent controlled apparent.
• Stubble Squirrel will find some antique family heirlooms in his attic. These will date back to the 1800. He will procrastinate at getting them appraised.
• Stubble Platypus will finally work on that boat model he impulse bought in New Orleans.
• Stubble Turtle will find out he was adopted. He will later reconnected with 56 brothers and sisters.
• Stubble Boar will have the best flan he ever tried after some very amazing fajitas.
• Stubble Mole will get his second degree black belt.
• Bunny Lashes will begin keeping a journal. By the end of the summer she will have at least 300 pages.
• Stubble Rooster will audition for a leading role in Hamlet. He will not get the part but will be hired as part of the acting troop. He’ll tour the country in the summers.
• Cow Lashes will take off 10 pounds by exercising and be able to fit in her old jeans.  Turns out she hates the style for those jeans but will love her new fitness.
• Stubble Pig will consider a new tattoo but later used the saved cash for something else.
• Chick Lashes will begin dating Stubble Duck.
• Stubble Pixel Bunny will go back to vocational school for a certified plumber license.
• Stubble Raccoon will be temporarily incarcerated for breaking bail. This will turn out to be an error and he will be offered an official apology which he will accept.
• Squid Lashes will finally travel Europe.
• Wrinkle Hen will pass away peacefully in her sleep. If there’s an afterlife shes going to try to cash in all that work she did for the church.
• Stubble Chick will try to quit smoking again and but start again after a falling out with his girl friend.
• Stubble Duck is calling off his rivalry with Stubble Chick although he wont admit to it.
• Stubble Bunny will remain partly unshaven.

Thinking forward, there are many views to the single sight. Which on its own is devoid of wrong or right. By consequence of being, it is these sights that we understand. One or more at a time; with only the lens that’s available at hand.

I keep having this recurring dream where I have to kill these monsters that come out at night.
