This is the second page I added during the layout phase. It worked very well at slowing down the pace a bit. It was also a good opportunity to work on more buildings, lighting and explosions.

My space man is getting a little deformed at this time and it’s not because of the explosions. I didn’t do enough studies early on so the neck got a little longer when as I kept drawing him in the suit. This is the lesson of the day folks. Draw your guys until your blue in the face and then check to see if you’re cheating.

It is perfectly acceptable for things like this to happen in this day and age. It is all done in the name of looking cool. Take you average animated, comic, video game protagonist character. Chances are their anatomy allows for broader shoulders, giant fists, colossal thighs and tiny little heads. This is all in an effort to look cool and it works. But thats not what I was going for.
