Pierce, bite, stab, slam, blast, scorch, surround, impale, incinerate, these are all he wonderful things that monsters do to pass their time. Now if you remember I started this story to give myself a chance to make some “krazy” panel layouts. Technically these are not very far out when you compare it to your average mainstream book but my last book (Mustang Hops) was very traditional by comparison.
I tried out an “Z” pattern for this page. Each panel overlapping the last. At some point I considered having sound effects in the gutters but it looked too busy. I think the flow is pretty good but its not perfect. I think panel 3 could do a better job at leading the eye down to the panel that overlaps it.
How do you read this?
Do you read it like an “Z”?
Do you read it in the traditional left to right, top row, middle row, bottom row pattern?
Who’s winning the fight so far? We’ll find out soon enough.
