Sometimes I get the feeling there are not a lot of extreme close ups in this book.
I think thats why I like panel 3. It’s hard to say. Everything is on the line at this point so it could be a natural reaction to the drama.
From a technical stand point I am working hard on my inking these days. I’m trying to avoid relying on the types of shapes I use on the leather coat in panel 1. Focus more on texture and less on flat areas of black and more on other methods of inking that texture.
Foreground, middle ground and background are also a challenge. The grey in Hops chest in pannel 2 I would probably make black and the black behind his head not so pronounced. It’s hard to tell how I would re-do it.
See what I working is that I how to be more observant of the entirety of the panel specially in black and white. The next story will be Territorial, I think it came a little better. Stay tuned.
