Old Spider-Man 2 promos and Launch Titles
I found this while rummaging for videos for the new Jorge Comics youtube channel.
Usually I never got a lot of press on the games I worked on. Sure there was a trailer but often it was for the console game and then at the end say “Oh and also for the Nintendo DS”.
When I got to work on a launch title it was a bit different. Ours was the only “original 3D” game for system launch so Nintendo help with promotional videos.
As a game SM2 is not revolutionary in game play but personally this was a very interesting experience.
We knew nothing of the device, how people would react to it and the development kit was a computer motherboard with a touch screen soldered into it and SNES controller sticking out the side. This is a Spider man 2 DS Promotional Video for the Nintendo DS (Originally seen in IGN DS).
Man this game is rad.
…it’s funny seeing electricity and techno for a clamshell DS, reminds me of the ‘Play It Loud’ ad campaign they had going for SNES / Game Boy Pocket era
